The Wellness Shift That Changed My Calling (and My Health)

There was a time I cared about how I looked—because of how people viewed me.

I worked out for the compliments.
I ate “clean” so I could feel in control.
I chased thinness, not wholeness.
And if I’m honest, it was all about approval.

But then something shifted.

As I grew in my faith and started walking in my true purpose, I realized:

My body wasn’t meant to impress. It was meant to carry out my calling.

And that changed everything.

When You Know Your Purpose Is to Glorify God… Everything Changes

You stop striving to be seen—and start stewarding what’s been entrusted to you.
You stop punishing your body—and start partnering with it.
You stop comparing—and start showing up in your assignment.

“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you…? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” — 1 Corinthians 6:19–20

That verse hit different when I realized my calling wasn’t just spiritual.
It was physical, too.

Because how can I love well, lead boldly, and serve with energy… if I’m constantly tired, bloated, burnt out, or sick?

Honoring Your Body Isn’t About Perfection—It’s About Purpose

Let me be clear: This isn’t about size. Or abs. Or trendy wellness routines.

It’s about asking:

  • Am I fueling my body to show up fully?

  • Am I resting and moving in ways that support my calling?

  • Am I seeing my body as a partner in my purpose—or an obstacle?

When we honor our bodies as vessels—not vanity projects—we start living with energy, clarity, and confidence… not to be worshipped, but to worship.

What This Looks Like in Real Life:

  • Choosing foods that nourish your energy—not spike and crash it

  • Moving your body because you can, not because you hate how you look

  • Drinking water, sleeping well, and building habits that support your mission

  • Giving yourself grace when you fall off track, but not staying stuck there

  • Listening to your body, but leading it with truth

Because This World Needs You Well

The people God’s called you to serve? They need you whole.
The vision He’s placed in you? It requires strength—emotional, spiritual, and physical.

So no—this isn’t about obsession or perfection.
It’s about stewardship.
It’s about honoring the vessel so you can carry the message.

Closing Encouragement:

You are not your body.
But your body matters.
Because it’s the home of your purpose, your mission, and the Spirit of God.

So take care of it.
Nourish it.
Move it with love.
And honor it—not for applause, but as worship.

When you do, you’ll feel it:
You’re not just living well. You’re living on purpose.
